Bennie Lowell Piatt, 88
Bennie Lowell Piatt, 88 of West Portsmouth, went to be with the Lord on Thursday February 2, 2017 at SOMC Hospice. He was born May 19, 1928 in Portsmouth to the late Archie Wells and Hazel Lee Pertuset Piatt. Along with his parents Bennie was preceded in death by a brother, two sisters, and a grandson, Keith Piatt Jr.
Bennie was a 1947 graduate of Portsmouth West High School. He worked for Vulcan Last Company until its closing, Laborer for Ryder Construction, Allen Stone Construction, Boone Coleman Construction, and Aristech Chemical Company as Labor Foreman until retirement. He joined the Washington Township Fire Department in 1953, where he was Assistant Chief for many years. He was a member of Laborers Local 83 and attended Bible Community Church.
Bennie is survived by his wife, Juanita Faye Diller Piatt whom he married on August 6, 1948, a son, Keith “Skeet” Lowell (Theresa) Piatt, a daughter, Connie Raye (Roger) Howard, six grandchildren; Tammy (Larry) Bolton, Chad (Jess) Piatt, Sherry (Duane) Ayers, Craig (Annie Howard) Piatt, Jodi (Ron) Howard, Angie O’Dell, 15 great-grandchildren; Kenzie, Morgan, Kennedy, Josh, Zach, Leah, Logan, Ledjer, Shasta, Kiana, Nico, Myia, Austin, Hayley, Madison, 4 great-great-grandchildren; Kallie, Kylie, Paisley, and Joel.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday February 8, 2017 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Brother Joe Nelson and Pastor Pete Shaffer officiating. Interment will be in Scioto Burial Park with OVFA Honor Guard performing last call rites. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday starting at 11 AM.
