Charles Edward Farney, 76

Charles Edward “Chuck” Farney, 76, of West Portsmouth, died Monday August 15, 2016 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. He was born August 9, 1940 in Portsmouth to the late James and Martha Hicks Farney. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by 7 brothers; Thomas, John, Bill, James, Marvin, Steven, and Wayne Farney, 3 sisters; Margaret Wilson, Betty Tysinger, Mary Copas French. Chuck was of the Protestant faith. He retired from Dayton Walther Corporation of Portsmouth, Ohio, was an avid bowler and member of Fraternal Order of Eagles. He loved camping, fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family and friends.

Chuck is survived a son, Gary Wayne Farney and a daughter, Rita Kay Farney Rollins, stepchildren; Carla and Robby, grandchildren; “Little Gary”, Ricky, Jodi, and Ashley, several great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, a sister, Helen Farney Logan of West Portsmouth, a special niece, Joyce Jarrell of Jackson, nephew, Jim Farney of West Portsmouth, 2 sister in laws; Velda Farney and Caroline Farney, and a brother in law, Larry Logan.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, August 19, 2016 at Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Joe Bruch officiating. Internment will be in Friendship Cemetery.
