Gerald S. Evans, 77

Gerald S. Evans, 77 of Friendship, died Friday March 10, 2017 at SOMC Hospice. He was born November 16, 1939 in Portsmouth to the late Stan and Helen Sexton Evans. He was a member of Laborers Local #83 and Retired from the Department of Transportation. He was a member of Rome Masonic Lodge #535 and Community Bible Church. He loved all sports and racing, especially Swartz Racing. Along with his parents Gerald was preceded in death by 2 sons; Phil and Bart Evans.

Gerald is survived by his wife Nancy Hall Evans who he married on December 5, 1959, 2 sons; Scott Evans and Ben Evans both of Wheelersburg, a daughter Tammy (Audie) Swartz of Minford, 8 grandchildren; Whitney Evans of Utah, Tyler (Kylie) Evans of Cincinnati, and Gabby Evans of Greenup, Michael (Kim) Evans of Columbus, Brandon (Brooke) Evans of Wheelersburg, Alicia Evans of Columbus, Misti Swartz of Houston, Texas, and Hayli (Malik) White of Minford, 7 great grandchildren Damairus, Daushod, Dashiya, Maddie, Braxton, Brice, and Brynlee.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday March 13, 2017 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Joe Nelson officiating and interment in McKendree Cemetery. A Masonic service will be held at 10:30am conducted by Rome Masonic Lodge # 535. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday starting at 11:00 AM.
