Kenneth Ray Hodge, 80
Kenneth Ray Hodge, 80 of West Portsmouth died Tuesday April 4, 2017 at SOMC Hospice. He was born September 21, 1936 in Stout to the late John Hodge and Bessie Shively. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by a brother, William Hodge, half brother Rufford Hodge, and a step-brother Horton Greene. Kenneth was a United States Marines Corps veteran of the Korean War, a member of the James Dickey Post 23 American Legion, and attended Sciotodale Freewill Baptist Church He retired from Southern Ohio Medical Center after 36 years of service.
He is survived by his wife Linda Faye Sowards whom he married March 1, 1964, a son, Michael Ray (Diana) Hodge of Wheelersburg, a daughter, Cindie Selbee of Franklin Furnace, a half sister, Phyllis Cartwright of Buffalo, NY, a step-sister, Joyce Compton of Portsmouth, 7 grandchildren; Caleb Hodge, Noah Hodge, Tyler Parrett, Matt Renison, Josh Renison, Mary Selbee, Caitlin Selbee, and 2 great-grandchildren, Nolan Renison and Lilly Renison.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday April 7, 2017 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth, with Aaron Reed officiating and interment in McKendree Cemetery.
