Mary C. Speck, 82

Mary C. Boyd Speck, 82 of West Portsmouth, died Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Heartland of Portsmouth. She was born March 28, 1935 in West Portsmouth to the late James William and Mary Frances Colley Boyd. Along with her parents Mary was preceded in death by her husband Norman Lee Speck who she married June 6, 1952, 2 sons; Blaine Eugene Speck and Duane Lee Speck, 9 siblings; Charles, William, James, Oscar, Donald, Ralph and Ronald Boyd, Opal Imogene McGraw and Hazel Maxine Locher

Mary was retired from GTE and was a member of Victory Baptist Church. She was a former softball coach and a former member of the Portsmouth West Athletic Association. She was also active with the Portsmouth West Alumni Association and the Alumni Scholarship.

Mary is survived by 2 sons; David Bryan (Rachel) Speck and Eric Neal (Anita) Speck,, 2 daughters; Nancy Elaine (John) Thompson and Cathy Renee Clark, 9 grandchildren; Jason Speck, Jerrid Speck, Shanna Lawson, Ashleigh Clark, Josie Mitchell, Amber Gillum, Courtney maiden, John Thompson II and Holden Speck, 13 great grandchildren and a special niece Lavanda Ricks.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday October 23, 2017 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Paul Gibson officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park.
