Ruby Jean Hamilton, 84

Ruby Jean Hamilton, 84 of Friendship, died Saturday November 18, 2017 at Bridgeport Nursing Home. She was born June 19 , 1933 in Scioto County to the late William F. and Haley Shephard Whaley. After raising her children, Ruby went back to school and became an LPN. She worked at Elmwood Village and retired from Heartland of Portsmouth. She was a member of Careys Run Church of Christ and was a great caregiver to family and to others.

Along with her parents Ruby was preceded in death by her husband Ross Martin Hamilton and 2 brothers; John Paul Whaley and William Stanley Whaley Jr.

Ruby is survived by 3 sons; Ross M. (Elizabeth) Hamilton Jr of West Portsmouth, Michael William (Kathy) Hamilton of Columbus and Barton Randall Hamilton of Wheelersburg, a daughter Tina Michelle (Joe) Hickerson of Minford, 11 grandchildren; Chris Hamilton, Amy Hamilton, Haley Jo Hickerson, Chad Sapp, Rhonda Boyer, Michael Hamilton, Brian Davis, Jason Davis, Angela Saunders, Erica LaFontaine and Caleb Hickerson, 14 great grandchildren and her dog “Intimidator” who she named after her favorite NASCAR driver.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday November 22, 2017 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with James Osborne officiating and interment in Friendship Cemetery.
