Walter W. “Butch” Kemper, 71
Walter W. “Butch” Kemper, 71 went home to be with the Lord on Saturday January 30, 2016 at SOMC Hospice. He was born July 18, 1944 in Portsmouth to the late Walter “Pike” and Anna Lee Yost Kemper. Butch was a truck driver and hauled heavy equipment. He worked at Boone Coleman Construction for 28 years. He had a passion for training horses. Along with his parents Butch was preceded in death by his grandparents; John and Lana Keibler and Ray and Tessie Kemper and a brother in law Bill Johnson.
Butch is survived by a daughter Tammy (JJ) Phillips of Portsmouth, a son Shane (Nikki) Kemper of Wheelersburg, a sister Rusty Kemper Johnson of West Portsmouth, 5 grandchildren’ Brandi Bricker, Austin Bricker, Marion Phillips, Nicolas (Kassie) Kemper and Aubree Kemper, 2 great grandchildren Caid and Crew Cantrell, 2 nieces; Deanna (Brett) Roberts and Cortney Frye, a great nephew Eli Roberts, special friends Randy and Stephanie Callihan along with several cousins.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday February4, 2016 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Bryan White officiating and interment in Rushtown Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
