Ruby (Lumpkins) Holt

Ruby Lumpkins Holt, 95 of Stout, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at her home. She was born in Greenup to the late Ruben and Eveline (Mullins) Lumpkins.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 76 years, Donald E. Holt; a great grandson, Donald S. Stout; 3 brothers, Clifford, Carl, and Laban Lumpkins; and 4 sisters, Jenny Long, Lotty Canfield, Vera Guilkey, and Catherine Lumpkins. 

She was a member of the First Christian Holiness Church in New Boston.  She was a homemaker and a true example of biblical hospitality.  She loved taking care of those she loved and those that needed love.  If you ever left her house hungry, you had no one to blame but yourself! 

Ruby is survived by a daughter Sandra Holt Hampton; 3 grandchildren, Donald E. Stout, Tammy S. Skaggs, and Donald H. Hampton; 11 great grandchildren, Jacqueline, Brittany, Jessica, Andria, Connor, Kendall, Rylee, Joshua, Cristy, Matthew, and DJ; several great-great grandchildren,  Makezee, Jayden, Walker Rose, Katie, Kara, Bub(Travis), Payton, Gavin, Kenna, Cage, Brayden, Tyson, Landen, Kaesyn; a very special friend, Emma Goodman and Connie Crager; and a special niece, Jenifer (Don) Stamler. 

Funeral services will be 1:00PM Monday, April 29, 2024, at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Lorenzo Bentley officiating. Interment will be in McKendree Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home beginning at 12:00PM on Monday.  Condolences may be sent to rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com.
