Mary Lynette Newman, 69

Mary Lynette (Vendura) Newman, 69, of West Portsmouth, passed away Saturday September 15, 2018 at Southern Ohio Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by parents Gilbert and Evelyn Vendura, Her husband Frank Newman during Vietnam, a sister Gail Galloway and nephew Adam Parker

Born April 22, 1949. Mary “Lyn” Vendura Newman attended Portsmouth West High School. She was a homemaker to her four children. Lyn was a fun-loving lady who always had time for everyone she knew. She loved to make people laugh. She was a huge fan of Elvis and his music and instilled that trait to her family.  Lyn was a member of New Beginning Church of God.

Family meant everything to Lyn. She is survived by her life-long companion Denny Howard, a son, James Newman of West Portsmouth, 3 daughters, Lisa (James “Arkie”) Newman Journey, Traci Newman (Jason) Hatfield, Stephanie Howard (Mark) Winters, a sister, Peggy Vendura (Tom) Whitt,  10 Grandchildren; Jerry Lee (Morgan) Cullum, Andrew Cullum, Samantha Cullum (Brandon Griffith) Brock Journey, Bralyn Newman, Cianna Newman, Sierra Davis, Tyler Thompson, Triston Kingery, and Unique Winters.  Also, 1 great grandchild Micah Cullum. Lyn will be greatly missed by her many nieces and nephews whom loved her dearly. Lyn also had a large extended family of cousins that will forever love and miss her.

Funeral services will be 12:00 PM Noon on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Zach Evans officiating. Interment will be in Lucasville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8:00PM on Friday and one hour prior to the funeral on Saturday. Anyone wishing to pay condolences is welcome to attend. Friends and Family will gather at the Masonic Lodge on 4th St West Portsmouth immediately following the funeral services on Saturday. All are welcome to pay their respects.
