Ada Juanita Vastine Jones, 87

Ada Juanita Vastine Jones, 87 of McDermott, died Tuesday May 23, 2017 at her home. She was born December 28, 1929 in Henley to the late Forrest and Emma Thompson Chaffin. She was retired from Southern Hills Hospital and Southern Ohio Medical Center. Along with her parents Ada was preceded in death by her husband Robert Vastine, a son Larry Charles Vastine, a grandson Roger Keith Tackett, a great grandson Joshua Paul Thompson, a brother Frederick Chaffin, 3 sisters; Marcella Parker, Marie McCardle and Eileen Sargent.

Ada is survived by 2 daughters; Deborah Pratt of McDermott and Linda Tackett of Portsmouth, a brother Frank Chaffin of Wheelersburg, 2 sisters; Joan Romeo of Portsmouth and Naomi McGraw of New Boston, 6 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 22 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday May 26, 2017 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Mike Chaffin officiating and interment in Rushtown Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday starting at 11:00 AM. The family would like to thank Dr. David Walker and SOMC Hospice for their special care.
