Alberta Irene Blakeman, 87

Alberta Irene (Rudity) Blakeman, 87 of West Portsmouth died Friday, July 04, 2008 at Heartland of Portsmouth. Alberta was born April 26, 1921 in Portsmouth, OH to the late Clarence E. and Rose Adkins Rudity. She was a Homemaker, a member of Bigelow Methodist Church, and was a member of the Rebekahs and served as Noble Grand. Along with her parents, Alberta was preceded in death by her husband, Henry C. Blakeman, whom she married December 13, 1940 in Greenup, Ky a brother, Eugene Rudity and a sister Eileen Rudity Jewell.

Alberta is survived by two daughters, Judith A. Watts M.S. ED. of Oak Island, N. Carolina and Sandra L. Wellman of Blanchester, OH; a son, Henry C. Blakeman, Jr., M.D., J.D. of Columbus, OH; a sister, Hazel Kreitzer of Wapakoneta, OH, and five grandchildren; Leigh, Lesley, and Ryan Watts, John Wellman R.Ph. and Betsy Wellman Burch, 7 great grandchildren; Dustin, Logan and Megan Wolf, Reagan Burch, Alexandra and Jacob Wellman and Lily Annette Watts. Alberta was also survived by a special companion, her Shihtzo Suzie.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Frank Tallerico officiating and interment in Memorial Burial Park. Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 6 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday and 1 hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
