Alice Naomi Charles, 92
Alice Naomi Charles, 92, of West Portsmouth died Thursday, May 18, 2006 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. Alice was born February 15, 1914 in Ashland, KY to the late Goy and Sphornia Childers Williams. She was a homemaker, a member of Stoney Run Baptist Church and worked and retired from Martings Department Store.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband Allen Charles. She is survived by a son, James Charles of West Portsmouth; a daughter Maxene Mitchell of West Portsmouth; two brothers, Earl Williams of Piketon and Ray Williams of Cleveland; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Mitchell, Cynthia Skaggs, Denise Tigner, Cheryl Collins; five great grandchildren, Chris, Shad, Jeffrey, Josh, and Robert and two great great grandsons, Bobby Lee Lemon and Jason Mitchell. She was also preceded in death by a son, Donald Charles; four brothers, Edward, Robert, James, and Lawrence Williams; five sisters, Lou Verna Vaughn, Charlene Potts, Francis Degutis, Polly Adams and Nellie Rose Smith; and two grandsons, Allen Mitchell and Donald Charles.
Funeral services will be 1 P.M. Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Junior Wiley officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 5 to 8 P.M. on Monday and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com
