Alvin "Sam" Corey Jr., 49 of Portsmouth, died Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at SOMC Hospice. He was born March 18, 1972 in Portsmouth to Alvin Corey, Sr. and Freda Adkins Corey. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Hermance and Earl Adkins, as well as several Aunts and Uncles.

He attended Bonser Run Church. He loved hunting, fishing and all sports especially UK Basketball and Ohio State football. Along with his mother Freda, he is survived by a sister, Dr. Carolyn (Tony) Arnett, 2 nephews Adam and Bryson Arnett, a special aunt Carolyn Smith along with several cousins.
