Anna Laura Bodmer, 79

Anna Laura Bodmer, 79 of Friendship, died Sunday October 18, 2009 at SOMC Hospice. She was born January 23, 1930 in Portsmouth to the late Otto and Verna Noxsel Smith. She was the former Owner and Operator of Bodie's Kwik Stop in Friendship and former employee of Shawnee Golf Course. Along with her parents Anna is preceded in death by her husband Robert Lee Bodmer who she married on February 27 1950 in Greenup, Ky., a daughter–in-law Jenny Bodmer, 2 brothers; Walton and Emerson Smith and a sister Betty Rogers.

Anna is survived by a son Rick Bodmer and a daughter Vickie (Randy) Hannah both of Friendship, 5 grandchildren; Stacey (Dwayne) Howell, Ashley (Scott Staggs) Hannah, Michelle Bodmer, Adam (Beth Lee) Bodmer and Andrea Bodmer, 9 great grandchildren Alex and Shelby Flagg, Hunter Maynard, Mason Bodmer, Amber, Ashley and Chase Howell, Hunter and Cody Staggs, a sister Evelyn "Penny" Craig, 3 sisters-in-law; Ramona and Ralph Noxsel, Marilyn Sexton and Betty Salter, special friends Betty Reed and Charlotte Bice.


Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday October 21, 2009 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Pastor Peter Michael officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday and 1 hour prior to the service on Wednesday. The family requests that donations be made to SOMC Hospice in Anna's name.
