Anna Mae Haynes, 76

Anna Mae (Murphy) Haynes (76) of Friendship, died Friday October 17, 2014 at her home. She was born August 25, 1938 in Portsmouth to the late Cecil and Peachie Marie (Shively) Murphy. She was a homemaker as well as a member of the Women's Auxiliary of the Nile Township Volunteer Fire Department for 10 years. Along with her parents, Anna was preceded in death by her husband James Edward Haynes whom she married on September 4, 1957; three sons, James E. Haynes Jr., Alan Dale Haynes, and Michael Lee Haynes; a brother, Howard Murphy; and two sisters, Connie Murphy and Jean Doss. Anna is survived by a son, Lowell Edward (Barbara) Haynes of West Portsmouth; two daughters, Sheryl Ann (Dave) Mathews of West Portsmouth and Donna Marie (Rex) Pierce of Grove City; four sisters, Clara Blevins of Friendship, Bonnie Doss of Columbus, Margaret Journey of West Portsmouth, and Susie Flannery of Stout; seven grandchildren: Cassie Faturiyele, Misty Pollard, Kasie Haynes, Edward Haynes, Davy Mathews, Chandelle Mathews, and Claudia Pierce; seven great-grandchildren: Mekhi, Akin, Blake, Balen, Thalia, Owen and Baylee. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday October 21, 2014 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with James Brandenburg officiating and interment in McKendree Cemetery.
