Arnold L. "Cobb" Litz, 86
Arnold L. "Cobb" Litz, 86 of Sciotoville, formerly of West Portsmouth, died Sunday August 16, 2015 at SOMC Hospice. He was born July 25, 1929 in Prestonsburg, KY to the late Henry D. and Carma M. George Litz. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a brother James E. Litz, 2 sisters; Darlis Rollins and Jettie Stanchfield 1 grandchild and 1 great grandchild. Cobb was a US Army veteran and a member of the UTC. He was a long time employee of Glockner Chevrolet and also C&P Enterprises on 2nd Street in Portsmouth.
Cobb is survived by his wife Phyllis Lane Litz who he married on August 10, 1959, 2 daughters; Brenda Sue Finley of Wilson, NC and Debbie (David) Blackburn of Chillicothe, 4 grandchildren; Melissa Saunders of Wilson, NC, Traci (Eric) Shnider and Carissa (Ed) Vanover both of Chillicothe and Bryan (Heather) Blackburn of Tennessee, 5 great grandchildren, a brother Harry C. "Tater" Litz Sr. and 2 sisters; Diana Wellman and Thelma Bradshaw all of West Portsmouth, along with several nieces, nephews and a host of friends at Whitey's and Henley Country Music Hall.
Memorial services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday August 19, 2015 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Ronald Litz officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday starting at 11:00 AM. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to SOMC Hospice in Cobb's name.
