Avonelle Grooms Kitchen, 77
Avonelle Grooms Kitchen 77, of West Portsmouth died Thursday, August 05, 2004 at her residence. Avonelle was born June 7, 1927 in Portsmouth, OH to the late Roy and Stella Collins Grooms. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Avonelle is survived by her husband Cleo Kitchen; a son and his wife, Richard and Melissa Kitchen of Florence, Kentucky; a daughter, Janet and Kenneth Arnold of Wheelersburg; a sister Olive Cunningham of New Boston; four grandchildren, Melissa Arnold of Wheelersburg, Ricky Kitchen of Cincinnati, Kristi and Matt Roberts of West Portsmouth, Violetta Kitchen of Florence, Kentucky; four great grandchildren, Nathon Keyes of Wheelersburg, Noah and Jacob Kitchen of Ft. Wright, Kentucky, LaiKyn Roberts of West Portsmouth and many nieces and nephews. Avonelle was preceded in death by two brothers Velton "Pick" Grooms and Russell "Mick" Grooms, and one sister, Lucille Lawson.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. on Sunday, August 8, 2004 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Reverend Dean Thompson officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 5 to 8 P.M. on Saturday and one hour prior to the service on Sunday. Condolences may be sent to kitchenfamily@rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com.
