Bart Evans, 46

Bart Evans, 46 of West Portsmouth, passed away Wednesday July 10, 2013 at Southern Ohio Medical Center after a long illness. His family was by his side when he drifted off to be with his big brother Phil and into the Lord's arms. He was born February 27, 1966 to Gerald and Nancy Evans of Minford. Bart attended Portsmouth West High School and graduated with the class of 1985. He was a former Pipefitter of Local 577. Bart was known for his athletic abilities and his love for working with younger children, to assist them in becoming the player he once was.

Along with his parents Bart is survived by 2 brothers; Scott Evans of Friendship and Ben Evans of Mansfield, a sister Tammy (Audie) Swartz of Minford, 3 children; Whitney Evans of Utah, Tyler Evans and Gabby Evans of Greenup, of which he adored, 2 nephews; Michael (Kim) Evans of Columbus, Brandon (Brooke) Evans of Wheelersburg, 3 nieces; Alicia Evans of Columbus, Misti Swartz of Portsmouth and Hayli Swartz of Huntington, WV., 6 great nieces and nephews; Damairus, Daushod, Dashiya, Maddie, Braxton and Brice, friends Tim Mershon, Mark Hall and numerous other friends.

Funeral services will 1:00 PM Friday July 12, 2013 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth. Interment will be in McKendree Cemetery at Stout. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday starting at 11:00 AM. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com
