Berlyn Lee Swords, 77

Berlyn Lee Swords, 77 of West Portsmouth, died Sunday, April 6, 2025 at Rosemount Pavillion. He was born May 23, 1947 in Scioto County to the late James and Katherine Lewis Swords.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Roger Swords.

Berlyn was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He was an Iron worker and a member of Iron Workers Local 172 in Columbus.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Ann Moore Swords, whom he married on July 31, 1971, 2 daughters; Teresa (Matthew) Conley and Tina Louise (Fred) Jones, a son Todd (Mari) Swords, a sister Christine Swords, 7 grandchildren; Megan Conley, Erin Conley, Ashley Harrison, Andrew Jones, Briana Swords, Brealyn Swords and Phoenix Swords and a great granddaughter, Jade Swords.

Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, April 19, 2025 at Lucasville Cemetery with Military Graveside rites by the James Dickey Post 23 American Legion.
