Bernice “Christine” Stamper, 78

Bernice “Christine” Stamper, 78, of Stout, Ohio, passed away Friday, September 25, 2026, at Grant Medical Center. She was born May 3, 1948, in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late James Berlyn Swords and Katherine E. (Lewis) Swords.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Berlyn and Roger Swords; and her sisters, Dee, Brenda, Wilma, and Gwendolyn Swords.

Christine worked as a home health aide, caring for others with kindness and compassion. She loved playing bingo and looked forward to the fun of each game and the company of the people around her.

She is survived by her son, James Casey Stamper of Stout; her daughter, Shanna (Joey) Miller of Patriot, Ohio; and her grandson, Cody (Rachel) Hagler.
