Bernistene Folsom, 91

Bernistene Folsom, 91 of West Portsmouth, died Saturday November 26, 2022 at Hillview Retirement Center. She was born January 10, 1931 in Waterloo, Ohio to the late Claude and Luella Humphrey Addis.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James E. Folsom whom she married on December 31, 1948.

Bernistene was a graduate of Portsmouth West High School and Portsmouth Business College. She was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, Shannoah Hospital Guild, Methodist Women's Guild and the Rockette Garden Club. She was a Girl Scout Leader, was active in the Portsmouth West Band Boosters, was a Room Mother and PTA member.

She is survived by 2 daughters: Becky (Ken) Parks and Jamie (Cass) Benedict, 2 sons: Jim (Gail) Folsom and John Folsom, 2 grandchildren: Whitney Folsom and Matthew (Felisha) Folsom, a great grandchild Liam Folsom, a sister C'Dora (Ed) Gulick and 2 nieces: Louann (Walt) Gaub and Claudia (Chris) Guilliams, great nieces and nephew, Owen (Hannah) Guilliams, Addison Guilliams and Ari Gaub, along with 6 step grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff at Hillview Retirement Center for their loving kindness and care. The family requests that donations be made to the Portsmouth West Scholarship Fund, the Friendship United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice in Bernistene's name.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday December 3, 2022 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth. Interment will be in Scioto Burial Park.
