Betty Foster, 79


Betty Aulene Foster, 79 of West Portsmouth died Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. She was born December 13, 1926 in Scioto County to the late William and Audrey Stratton Setters. She retired from the Elks City and County Club. In her later years she was a homemaker, a member of Grace Chapel Church and had resided at Hill View Retirement Center for the last year.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Charles (Poke) Foster. She also was preceded in death by two brothers James and William Setters and three sisters Christine Sowards, Emma Setters and Estel Bowles and a daughter-in-law Toni Elaine (Miller) Bauer. She is survived by two sons, Butch Bauer of West Portsmouth and John Foster of New Boston; two daughters Sharon (Willis) Howard of West Portsmouth and Joy M. (Troy) Irwin of West Portsmouth; a sister Virginia (Dallas) Stepp of Portsmouth; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law Richard and Janice Foster of Wheelersburg; ten grandchildren, Bev Evans, Brian Howard, Kelly Ridout, Scott Bauer, Missy Eldridge, Jay Foster, Stacey Fields, Tracey Foster, Josh Irwin and Keri Irwin; 17 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 P.M. Sunday, March 19, 2006 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Reverend Robert Temple officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 6 to 8 P.M. on Saturday and one hour prior to the service on Sunday. The family's favorite charity is Hospice of Southern Ohio.
