Betty Rapp, 83

Betty Imogene Rapp, 83 of McDermott, died Saturday July 12, 2014 at Hill View Retirement Center. She was born February 1, 1931 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois to the late James Clarence and Myrtle Gowler Greer. Betty retired from Washington-Nile Local Schools after 34 years as a teacher. She was also a member of Nauvoo United Methodist Church. Along with her parents Betty was preceded in death by a brother James Greer. Betty is survived by her husband Ralph Rapp Jr. who she married on June 2, 1951, 2 daughters; Beverly (Rick) Clark of Lucasville and Janice (Rich) Fraley of Portsmouth, a brother Don (Edith) Greer of Centralia, IL., a sister Mary (George) Dooms of Evansville, IN., 6 grandchildren; Jesse Johnson, Steven Johnson, Jonathan Clark, Jeremy Clark, Richie Fraley and Anna Whitt, along with 9 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday July 17, 2014 at Nauvoo United Methodist Church in West Portsmouth with Rick Clark and Pastor Pete Shaffer officiating. Interment will be in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth from 5 to 8:00PM on Wednesday and one hour prior to the service at the church.
