Betty Jean Pollard, 65

Betty Jean Brown Pollard, 65 of West Portsmouth, died Thursday April 7, 2011 at SOMC Hospice. She was born March 4, 1946 in Stout, Ohio to the late James and Ethel Horsley Brown. She was a former member of Pond Run Baptist Church and attended Mead Pentecostal Church of Christ. Along with her parents Betty was preceded in death by her husband Edward Pollard who she married on November 8, 1968 on Stoney Run and 18 brothers and sisters.

Betty is survived by 2 daughters; Norma Jean (Bryan) Ferry and Linda Kaye (John) Burgess all of West Portsmouth, a foster daughter Shirley Ann (Ronald) Smith of Garrison, Ky, 1 brother Henry Brown and 2 sisters; Mildred Lawhun and Vicky Brown, 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday April 12, 2011 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Rev. Douglas Adkins and Bryan Ferry officiating. Interment will be in McKendree Cemetery with Rev. Tank Fugitt officiating. Friends may call at The funeral home from 6 to 8:00 PM on Monday and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
