Billy Gene Skaggs, 75

Billy Gene Skaggs, 75 of West Portsmouth, died Monday November 14, 2011 at SOMC Hospice. He was born August 12, 1936 in Portsmouth to the late Hobert Skaggs and Opal Hammonds Skaggs Moore. He was a former truck driver for Canada Dry and retired from the maintenance department of Washington-Nile Local schools after 25 years of service. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Christian Union of West Portsmouth and was an avid hunter and musician. Along with his parents Billy was preceded in death by a son Billy Ray Skaggs, a brother Hobert Skaggs Jr and a sister Lorraine Angel.

Billy is survived by his wife Juanita Johnson Skaggs who he married on April 10, 1962 in Portsmouth, a son Preston (Denise) Skaggs of West Portsmouth, 3 daughters; Susan Cleland of Rarden Yvonne (Lowell) Kinney of Lucasville and Margaret (Daniel) Ouellette of Blue Creek, 11 grandchildren; Lowell Kinney Jr., Juanita Toller, Lesia Skaggs, Jamie Toller, Mark Ginn, Danielle Ginn, Gabe Skaggs, Joshua Scott Cleland, Andrea Sexton, Chelsea Rose and Steven Rose along with several great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday November 17, 2011 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Roy Fannin officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park.
