Bob Cole, 73

Bob Cole, 73, of West Portsmouth, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 30, 2023 at SOMC Hospice. He was born on March 26, 1950, to the late Bruce and Hester Cole.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter Melissa Kaye Cole, 4 brothers; Jim, Roy, Bruce, and Walter Cole, and 3 sisters; Ruth Cole Webb, Janet, and Nellie Cole.

In his youth, Bob was known for his talent and love for the game of baseball. Bob was retired from Laborers Local 83. He was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed spending time listening to his fox hounds and beagles run. Most important to Bob was his faith in Jesus Christ. He was a member of Bible Chapel Church for 45 years where he served as Sunday school teacher and trustee.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Evelyn Kaye Cole, and his son Bobby (Sherry) Cole of West Portsmouth. Bob is also survived by granddaughter Alexis (Andrew) Fiorita and grandson Eli Cole, both of West Portsmouth. He also leaves behind 3 brothers; Ralph, Everett, and John Cole, along with several in-laws, nieces, nephews and a special cousin Buddy Cole that he cared for dearly.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Noon on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Bible Chapel Church in West Portsmouth, OH with Jack Lore and Danny Blevins officiating. Friends may call to Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth on Friday September 8, 2023 from 6 to 8:00 PM and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. After the memorial service Bob will take a final trip to his favorite place in Cades Cove where he will be laid to rest with his daughter Melissa.
