Boyd C. Conley, 68
Boyd C. Conley, 68 of Lucasville, Ohio was called home by his heavenly Father on Thursday July 11, 2013. He was taken by accident while cutting firewood. Boyd was born June 9, 1945 in Portsmouth to the late Autie and Nancy "Dottie" Ison Conley. He attended and graduated from Stockdale High School in 1963. He went on to college taking a work study program in business at Ohio State University. He began work for Ohio Power January 1967 and spent his career of 45 years with American Electric Power Company. He had retired May 2011. In the fall, his daughter was diagnosed with cancer and passed away this past June. He felt the Lord had lead him to this decision so he could help his daughter. Throughout his career, he was active in many service organizations (Rotary, United Way and many others). He gave his life to the Lord as a young man and tried to live a life that pleased the Lord. Boyd belongs to Dailyville Free Will Baptist Church. Boyd married the love of his life, Tena L. Fannin on June 28, 1985.
Boyd leaves behind his wife Tena L. Fannin Conley, Granddaughters; Heather McLaughlin, Sara Bailey of Chillicothe, Ohio, Jessica Slone of Waverly, Ohio, daughter Patricia Slone of Waverly, Ohio, great granddaughter Peyton Slone, of Waverly, Ohio, mother and father-in-law William C. and Rosie Fannin, brother Randall P. (Barbara) Conley, sister Juanita Conley, sister and brother in-laws Tracey (Fannin) and Joe Bandy all of Lucasville, Ohio. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Boyd was a Christian man of impeccable character, a loving, and devoted husband and excellent provider, who will never be forgotten. Earth's loss is truly heavens gain. All those who loved him are left to mourn his passing until we see him again in glory.
