Brent Justin Matthews, 29

Brent Justin Matthews, 29 of West Portsmouth died Monday, February 5, 2018 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. He was born June 29, 1988 in Portsmouth to the late Mark Vaughters and Susan Matthews who survives. Along with his father, he was preceded in death by his grandfather Paul Matthews and his uncle Paul Matthews II. Brent was loved by many and always willing to lend a helping hand. He was smart, strong and courageously fought many battles. He will be remembered for his personality, unique laugh, and heart of gold. He loved without faults and found the good in everyone.

Along with his mother, Brent is survived by 2 sons; Bentley and Ashton Matthews, girlfriend; Megan Trapp, a sister; Corey (Chad) Bentley, a grandmother; Christine Matthews, 2 nephews; Trevor and Brigham, a niece; Mackenzie, several uncles, aunts and cousins.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Jim Matthews officiating and interment in Vaughters Cemetery.
