Bruce L. Pelphrey, 87

Bruce L. Pelphrey 87 of Portsmouth, died Tuesday December 6, 2011 at Heartland of Portsmouth. He was born February 11, 1924 in Portsmouth to the late Floyd and Vada Brooks Pelphrey. He was a farmer and a member of Pond Run Baptist Church. Along with his parents Bruce was preceded in death by his wife Goldie Pelphrey who he married in October of 1977, a brother Floyd Pelphrey, a sister Dorothy Garrett, a stepson Freddie Taylor and a grandson Jeff Taylor.

Bruce is survived by a stepson Stephen (Louise) Taylor of Grayson, Ky, a brother Mark (Brenda) Pelphrey of Stout, a sister Ester Swartz of Carlisle, Kentucky five grandchildren; Lisa (Louie) Church of Ironton, Gary (Marie) Taylor of Stout, Candy (Shane) Burnett of Cattletsburg, Ky, Mike (Sherri) Roberts of Richmond, Ky and Stephen Taylor of Cincinnati, 8 great grandchildren, and 3 gt gt grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday December 9, 2011 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Jimmy McCullough officiating and interment in Sandy Springs Cemetery.
