Carl Crisp Sr., 75

Carl Stanley Crisp Sr., 75 of West Portsmouth, died Saturday October 26, 2013 at Advance 360 in Portsmouth. He was born November 18, 1937 in Portsmouth to the late Lester lee and Nora Carter Crisp. He retired after 47 years as a union carpenter and from Boone Coleman Construction Company in West Portsmouth. He was a member of Carpenters Local # 437 and a 25 year member of Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department, where he served as Chief from 1985 to 1988. Along with his parents Carl was preceded in death by 2 brothers; Lester Crisp Jr and William Crisp and a sister Bertha Morrison.

Carl is survived by his wife Barbara Jean Denning Crisp who he married March 5, 1957, 3 sons; Carl Crisp Jr., Mark Crisp and Charles Crisp all of West Portsmouth, a daughter Dianna Howard of West Portsmouth, a brother Charles Crisp of Ripley, 2 sisters; Thelma Dillow of Portsmouth and Ruth Crisp of Columbus, a special niece Mary Ann Crisp of Portsmouth, 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday October 31, 2013 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with interment in Mershon Cemetery.
