Carol Eugene Howard, 93

Carol Eugene Howard, 93 of Minford, died Monday, December 25, 2023 at SOMC Hospice. He was born July 23, 1930 in Portsmouth to the late Warnie and Francis Galloway Howard.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mercetis Jolene Brown Howard, whom he married on July 2, 1951, 3 brothers; Clay Galloway, Jesse Ramey and Ernie Howard, 2 half brothers; Ed Howard and Wade Howard, 3 sisters; Lillian Aeh, Wandaleen Boyd and Janie Osborne along with one half sister Oakie Howard and special cousin Claude "June" Howard.

Carol retired from Pepsi Cola after 44 years of service.

Carol is survived by 2 daughters; Marcia Perry and Karen (Gerald) Purcell, a son, Brian Keith Howard, a sister Clores Milstead, 10 grandchildren; Eric Purcell, Michael Perry, Joshua Purcell, Lindsay Perry, Matthew Perry Speno, Tyler Howard, Emily Howard, Hannah Bauer, Mason Howard, and Breanna Howard, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Jason Coriell and Carol McGraw officiating and interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday starting at 12:00 PM.
