Carol Jean Payne, 78
Carol Jean Payne, 78 of West Portsmouth, died Sunday May 18, 2014 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. She was born April 1, 1936 in Portsmouth to the late Harry and Euka Marie Adams Reynolds. She worked at Sears for 17 years and retired from Southern Ohio Medical Center in Telecommunications. She was a member of Nauvoo United Methodist Church. She was a service steward and served on many committees at the church. Along with her parents Carol was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Eugene Payne who she married on July 3, 1954 and a brother Phillip Reynolds. Carol is survived by a son Michael (Lori) Payne of McDermott, a daughter Debbie (Bob) Stahler of West Portsmouth, the love of her life, her granddaughter, Michelle Stahler of West Portsmouth, a brother Don (Bonnie) Reynolds and a sister Barb (Mike) Warner all of West Portsmouth, a brother in law, Tom (Pat) Payne of West Portsmouth and a sister in law Glenda Reynolds of Columbus. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday May 21, 2014 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Pastor Pete Shaffer officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
