Catherine Sowkulech Mitchell, 82
Catherine Sowkulech Mitchell, 82 of West Portsmouth died Tuesday January 29, 2008 at Hillview Health Care Center. She was born September 12, 1925 in Portsmouth to the late Mike and Mabel Himes Sowkulech. Cate retired after 28 years of teaching at Washington Local Schools. She was also a member of Nauvoo United Methodist Church.
Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Donald Mitchell Sr., a son John Michael Mitchell, 2 brothers; Michael L. Sowkulech and Donald Ray Sowkulech and a sister Patricia Isgett.
Cate is survived by a son Donald (Pat) Mitchell Jr. of West Portsmouth, 2 daughters; Suzanne (Dan) Trout and Cathy Jo Sparks both of Powder Springs, Ga, a brother William (Pat) Sowkulech of West Portsmouth, 9 grandchildren: Donald Mitchell III, Lori Jenkins, Johnny Maze, Nikki King, Greg Hanzel, David Hanzel, Amber Fishborne, Zach and Cody Sparks, 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Friday February 1, 2008 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Rick Phillips officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 PM to8:00 PM on Thursday and 1 hour prior to the service on Friday. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com
