Catherlee Reiser Bartlett Mowery, 94

Catherlee "Kate" Reiser Bartlett Mowery, born July 25, 1916 passed on Friday, December 24, 2010 at the age of 94 at SOMC Hospice.She was born to the late Anna Margaret (Knost) Reiser and John Christopher Reiser on the Reiser Farm on Turkey Creek in Friendship, OH in Scioto County and reared at 316 Madison Street in Boneyfiddle area of Portsmouth, OH. She graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1934. She was preceded in death by four brothers; Elmer, Carl, Orville and Paul Reiser and three sisters; Helen Shope, Edna Mae Brinkley and Elizabeth Rose Johnson.

Catherlee was preceded in death by her first husband Carl Bartlett in 1948. From their marriage in 1938 two children were born; Leanna Bartlett Scheibelhoffer (Anthony) of Kimbolton, OH and N. Fort Myers, FL and John Daniel Bartlett (Marjorie) of Stockton, CA.

Catherlee was also preceded in death by her second husband Raymond Mowery in 1974. From their marriage in 1955 two children were born; Raymond Scott Mowery (Linda) of McDermott and Paul Gilbert Mowery (Rose) of Portsmouth. Catherlee also welcomed Raymond's five children to the family; Genevieve (David) Pierron of Marion, OH, Homer (Brenda) Mowery of Bolder, CO., Patty ( Pitts) Tracy (the late Pete Tracy) of Portsmouth, Gwendolyn Johnson (the late Jim Johnson) of Sciotoville and Sharon (Paul) Boggs of South Shore, KY..

Catherlee was blessed with seventeen grandchildren, including Gary Dean Mowery of West Portsmouth who deservedly called her "mom" and Paula Rose Mowery Simpson of Minford with whom she had a special relationship. She also had fifteen great grandchildren, which included three sets of twins, and sixteen great great grandchildren. Also numerous nieces and nephews.

In her famous words she welcomed; "My kids, your kids, our kids and everyone else's kids." Special thanks are given to friends; Kim, Lora, Darla and a special niece Carolyn Warnock of McDermott. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to SOMC Hospice in Catherlee's name.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday December 27, 2010 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Mark Bales officiating and interment in Worleys Run Cemetery.
