Charles Thomas Cole Sr., 85

Charles Thomas Cole Sr., 85 of Fennville, Michigan formally of Portsmouth, died Monday March 30, 2009 at Allegan General Hospital in Allegan, MI. He was born March 12, 1924 in Cleveland to the late William Thomas and Lucille Elizabeth Taylor Cole. He retired from Bosch in Michigan and was a veteran of 2 wars. He served the Navy in WWII and in the Army in the Korean Conflict. He also loved to dance and spend time with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Along with his parents Charles was preceded in death by his wife Gaythle Louise Pitts Cole who he married in November of 1949.

Charles is survived by 2 sons; Charles Thomas Cole Jr of Columbus and Ira Steven (Geri) Cole of Allegan, MI, 2 daughters; Tonia (Melvin) Hart of Rector, Arkansas and Lona (Fred) Sliter of Fennville, MI., 6 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday April 3, 2009 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Mark Seevers officiating. Interment will be in Scioto Burial Park with graveside military rites by James Dickey Post 23 American Legion. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00am until the funeral hour.
