Charles Thomas Hatten, 81

Charles Thomas Hatten, 81 of West Portsmouth, died Sunday March 2, 2008 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. Hew as born March 4, 1926 in West Virginia to the late Noah and Lottie Ferguson Hatten. Charles was a WWII Army veteran and a retired from working Construction. He was a member of Smith Branch Church and attended Meade Church and Wurtland Church of God. Charles loved to go to church. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by a daughter Sharon K. Hatten Loop, a brother Arie Hatten and a sister Evelyn Hatten.

Charles is survived by his previous wife Ellen Irene Hatten Parker of Sciotoville, his current wife Virginia Kitchen Hatten, daughters; Jenny (Tim) Sexton of South Shore, KY, Teresa (Dave) Paxson of Sciotoville, Tammy Hatten of Detroit MI, Debbie Spriggs of Sciotoville, Michelle Kitchen of Palm Coast, Fl, Danielle (Steve) Holt of Firebrick, KY, sons; Steve Hatten of Daytona, Fl, Jason Hatten of Waverly, a brother Doc Hatten of Waverly and a sister Joann Smith of Ashland, KY, 13 grandchildren; Sharon Galloway, Michelle Wessell, Stacey Brown, Shaun Paxson, Christel Harr, Angie Gillilian, Steve Loop, JR Loop, Dawn and Jake Weaver, Kenny Hibbard, Hailey and Courtney Lifter and Alexis Gee, 8 great grandchildren; Justin Cunningham, Bailey Brown, Bethany Wessell, Braxton Phillips, Ryan Thompson, Corey and Kasondra Harr and Warren Gillilian.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday March 6, 2008 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Reverend JR and Virginia Asbury officiating. Interment will follow at Haverhill Cemetery with graveside military rites by James Dickey Post 23 American Legion. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday and 1 hour prior to the service on Thursday. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com
