Charles Rodney Thompson, 67
Charles Rodney Thompson, 67, of West Portsmouth died Friday, January 12, 2007 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. Charles was born March 9, 1939 in Sciotoville to the late Willard Thompson and Oteene Constance Powell Thompson Perkins. He attended West Portsmouth High School, he was a member of the US Air Force in 1956-58; a member of the Grand Lodge of Kentucky F & A M; a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, the Fraternal Order of Eagles 349, AMVETS Post 58 and American Legion Post 471. He was retired and a member of Teamsters Local 505.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Louise Simon Thompson; three sons, Charles and Steven Thompson of Portsmouth and Barry Carl Eggers of Springfield; three daughters, Rhonda Shephard and Sandy Sparks of Kentucky, and Angela (Steve) Cutler of Waverly;
a brother, Harry Perkins of Wheelersburg; two sisters, Donna Willis of West Portsmouth and Deanna Flaugher of Portsmouth; 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1 P.M. Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Pastor R. Michael Ratcliff officiating, and interment in Scioto Burial Park with graveside Military Rites by James Dickey Post 23 American Legion.
