Christine Penix, 90

Christine Clay Penix, 90 of South Shore, passed away Sunday December 19, 2021 at the home of her daughter in Ashland. She was born July 8, 1931 in Greenup County, Kentucky to the late Lewis and Marie Griffith Clay.

Along with her parents Christine was preceded in death by her husband William "Jack" Penix, whom she married on June 19, 1948, a son Roger Penix, 3 grandchildren; Kelly Boggs, Aaron Greenfield and Crystal Penix, son-in laws; Don Clary, Dennis Pennington, Terry Floyd and Roger Greenfield, daughter in law Velvet Penix, brothers; Otis, Clay, Charles and Leonard Clay and 3 sisters; Ruby Turner, Dorothy Ridout and Patricia Clay.

Christine loved to watch TV Game Shows, work crossword puzzles and loved to crochet. She also liked classic country music.

She is survived by 4 sons; Eric (Tara) Penix, Steve (Cathy) Penix, Terry (Tammy) Penix and Jeff (Lynette) Penix, 5 daughters; Billie Floyd, Brenda Clary, Vivian Pennington Kista (Terry) Childers, and Judy Greenfield, daughter in law Sue Penix, 2 brothers; Samuel and Robert Clay and a sister Garnet Billar, 23 grandchildren 41 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren. The family is grateful for son in law Terry Childers for the great care he gave Christine.
