Claris Joan Blackburn, 86

Claris Joan Blackburn, 86 of West Portsmouth, died Tuesday March 15, 2022 at her home. She was born November 16, 1935 in Franklin Furnace to the late James Everett and Elizabeth Julia Russell Blevins.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by a son Michael Ray Blackburn, a brother, Virgil Blevins and 4 sisters: Della Marie Russell, Mary Mackinnon, Pam Murphy and Wanda Welch.

Claris is survived by her husband Hershel Eugene Blackburn whom she married on January 31, 1952, a son Steven Eugene Blackburn, 2 daughters: Kathy (JR) Staggs and Sharon Perrine, 4 brothers: David Blevins, Larry Blevins, Paul Blevins and Leroy Blevins,, 1 sister, Elizabeth Geraldine Sperry, 3 grandchildren: Eddie Scott, Johnny Grizzell and Amanda Perrine, 3 great grandchildren: Angel Scott, Savannah Grizzell and Austin Grizzell and 3 great, great, grandchildren: Atlas Scott, Lola Scott and Raylin Grizzell.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday March 18, 2022 at The Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Rick Ratliff officiating and interment will be in Junior Furnace Cemetery.
