Cleo Kitchen, 81, of West Portsmouth died Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at his residence. Cleo was born December 28, 1924 in Portsmouth, OH to the late James and Charlotte Houck Kitchen. He was a WWII Army Veteran, a member of American Legion Post 23, Moose Lodge 762, and Operating Engineers Local 18.
Cleo was preceded in death by a wife of 56 years Avonelle Grooms Kitchen, two brothers, Gobel and Ed Kitchen, and one sister Bernice Cassidy. He is survived by his wife of nine months, Virginia Kitchen, a son Richard (Melissa) Kitchen of Florence, KY, a daughter Janet (Kenneth) Arnold of Wheelersburg; two step daughters, Michelle (Kenneth) Hibbard of Palm Coast, FL and Danielle (Steve) Holt of Firebrick, KY; Grandchildren Melissa (Randy) Mougey of Dayton OH, Ricky (Heather) Kitchen of Cincinnati OH, Kristi (Matt) Roberts of West Portsmouth, OH, Violetta Kitchen of Florence KY; step grandchildren Dawn Kitchen and Kenny Hibbard of Palm Coast FL, Haley and Courtney Lifter and Alexis Gee of Firebrick, KY; Great grandchildren Nathan Keyes of Dayton OH, Laikyn Roberts of West Portsmouth and Noah and Jacob Kitchen of Covington, KY; and step great grandchildren Nathan and Jack Alcorn; a brother, Ora Kitchen and a sister Louise Kitchen Thompson both of West Portsmouth.
Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Saturday, November 25, 2006 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Reverend Debbie Blair officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park with Graveside Military Rites by James Dickey Post 23 American Legion.
