Clifford Edwin Foster, 92

Clifford Edwin Foster, 92 of Rosemount, departed this life on Monday July 30, 2007 at Southern Ohio Medical Center following an extended illness. He was born May 9, 1915 the 4th son to the late Jesse Watson and Mary Elizabeth Boyer Foster. He is also preceded in death by his wife of 64 years Lena Hayslip Foster, a son Terry Edwin Foster, 3 brothers Harvey, Forrest and Merle Foster and 2 sisters Mae Ramsey and Gladys Caplinger.

Clifford is survived by 2 daughters: Donna Ruth (Ted) Fisher of Wilcox, Az. and Marilyn Kaye Wright of McDermott, a son Jerry (Ruth Ann) Foster of North Tazewell, Va. 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 6 Gt. Gt. grandchildren.

Cliff and Lena Owned and operated East End Grocery in Peebles in the mid 1940's, then Foster's Grocery in Rosemount in the early 1950's. Cliff was also employed by Borden Milk Co, Alsco Aluminum Inc. and Adams Baking Company from which he retired in 1975. Cliff assisted and supported Lena in her pastorate of the Upper Blue Creek Tabernacle in Adams County which he and his family constructed. He and Lena served in evangelistic Ministry throughout southern Ohio. He was an avid fisherman and loved exploring the great outdoors with his treasure finder. Cliff was also a faithful member of Candy Run Wesleyan Tabernacle.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday August 4, 2007 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with
Reverend Andy Ramey, Reverend Grace Bloomfield and Dr. Robert Fulton officiating. Interment will be in West Union Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday and 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com

The family would like to send a special thank you to the Rosemount Volunteer Squad who so faithfully transported Cliff during his illness, the staff of Golden Years Health Care Center and Southern Ohio Medical Center, especially Lori, LPN and to the special nieces and nephews who were there for him and helped with his care giving.
