Cora Ruth Hawkins, 78

Cora Ruth Hawkins, 78 of West Portsmouth died Tuesday June 17, 2014 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. She was born February 18, 1936 in Portsmouth to the late Vernon C. and Della Adams McCall. She was a retired secretary from Howell Construction Company and was a member of Dry Run Church of Christ. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Portsmouth Chapter. Along with her parents Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Richard Hawkins.

Ruth is survived by 2 sons; Vernon "Corky"  Spencer and wife Kelly of West Portsmouth and Rusty Phillips of Patoka, IL., 3 grandchildren; Josh Phillips, Aaron (Ashley) Spencer and Cody Phillips,   3 stepsons; Rick Phillips of Branson, MO, Jim (Marsha) Phillips of McDermott and Wade (Laura) Hawkins of Kell, IL., 2 stepdaughters; Diana (Gary) Moore of Arizona and Gay Hawkins of Alabama.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday June 21, 2014 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Mark Seevers officiating and interment in Beechfork Cemetery in Otway. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8:00 PM on Friday and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. The family requests that any donations be made to the Humane Society in Ruth's name.
