Dale Nolen Biggs, 81
Dale Nolen Biggs, 81, of Carey's Run, West Portsmouth, died Saturday, July 4, 2015 at Heartland of Portsmouth. He was born February 2, 1934 in Portsmouth, the son of the late Joseph and Beatrice Biggs. Dale worked 11 years at Detroit Steel, also as an ironworker and was a retired pipefitter welder, Dayton Local 162. He attended Rehoboth Mission and Church of Christ in Christian Union. He was a 1952 graduate of West Portsmouth, Washington High School. He was a United States Marine veteran of the Korean War and a fifty plus year member of the Nauvoo Masonic Lodge 769.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Anna Louise Moore Biggs whom he married July 25, 1964. He is also survived by 3 sons, Dr. Tim (Julie) Biggs of New Jersey, Matt (Pam) Biggs of Tipp City, Mike (Amy) Biggs of Xenia, Ohio and one daughter, Kristina (Shane) Allen, of Wheelersburg, Ohio. Also his grandchildren, Connor, Tristan and Kyle Biggs, Josh Logan, Ashley Denton, Ethan Biggs, Brooklyn and Kalyn Biggs, Christopher and Emily Allen. His great grandchildren Elli and Micah Denton, Riley and Kaleb Logan, and Ella Allen. His 5 brothers , Dr. Joseph (Anita) Biggs of Arroyo Grande, CA, Dr. Jerry (Ramil) Biggs of Sun City, AZ, Colby Biggs of Beavercreek, OH, Douglas (Debbie) Biggs of Lancaster, OH, Duane Biggs of Nevada, and 3 sisters Sharon Palmer of Portsmouth, OH, Cindy Biggs of Kennesaw, GA, and Joellen (Michael) Hatfield of Freemont, OH. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Bud Biggs and infant Timothy Biggs.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday July 8, 2015 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with J.D. Stevens officiating. Interment will be in Lucasville Cemetery with graveside military rites by the James Dickey Post 23 American Legion.
