Daniel Patrick Cassidy, 61

Daniel Patrick Cassidy, 61 of West Portsmouth went to be with the Lord on Monday November 2, 2015 at his home. He was born February 3, 1954 in Lorain, Ohio to the late James Cassidy and Helen Damron of Portsmouth. Daniel was a drug and alcohol counselor for over 23 years. His passion was to help others in our community recover from addiction. He volunteered much of his time to help start the drug courts in Scioto County. Daniel had a great love for his family, motorcycles, guns, fishing and the Pittsburg Steelers.

Along with his mother Daniel is survived by his wife Sharon Stebel Cassidy who he married on May 21, 2010, 2 stepsons; Brandon Shope of Otway and Shane Shope of Hillsboro, a sister' Nancy Malec of Virginia, nephews; Josh, Jared and James Malec and an uncle Ed Damron.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday November 7, 2015 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday starting at 2:00 PM. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com.
