David Quere, 94

David A. Quere, 94 of West Portsmouth passed away Monday November 14, 2011 at Hempstead Manor in Portsmouth. He was born December 21, 1916 in Cleveland to the late Arthur and Bertha Bartley Quere. David was a WWII Army veteran and a graduate of The Ohio State University. He also attended Christ Community Church in Portsmouth. He retired from Caterpillar Corporation and was the owner of We-Wo-Ka Cabin Resort on Lake Chautauqua in New York. Along with his parents David was preceded in death by his first wife Nancy W. Quere and a sister Ruth Sullifan.

David is survived by his wife Hazel Piatt-Quere a daughter, Elizabeth (David) Slaybaugh of Dublin, a son Paul Quere of Ft Meyers, Fl grandchildren; Tammy (David) Wynn, Stephen Slaybaugh, Matthew (Acacia) Slaybaugh, Paul (Tracy) Quere, Rachel Flores and Renee Quere, and 7 great grandchildren, a stepson Larry Piatt and step grandchildren; Rebekah Piatt, David Piatt, Benjamin Piatt and Sarah Piatt, favorite daughter-in-law Nancy Quere, special friend and caregiver Judy Kutschbach.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday November 17, 2011 at Christ Community Church in Portsmouth with Pastors Frank Tallerico and Ralph Clay officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Christ Community Church in David's name. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to the caregivers at Hempsted Manor.
