Delma Lorraine Canter, 92

Delma Lorraine (Stone) Canter, 92, of West Portsmouth, passed away Wednesday March 9, 2011 at SOMC Hospice following a long illness. She was born June 15, 1918 on Carey's Run in West Portsmouth to the late Ezra and Esta Alice Atkins Stone. She was a homemaker and a member of Carey's Run Church of Christ. Along with her parents Delma was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years Harrison Canter in 1983, a son David Gene Canter in 2005 and 2 brothers Edgar Jack Stone and Harold Eugene "Hap" Stone.

Delma is survived by her daughter, Donna (David) Horsley of Bixby, OK, daughter-in-law Patsy Canter of West Portsmouth, 4 grandsons; David and Robert Canter and Wade and Danny Horsley, 2 grandaughters; Shelly Kallas and Dawn Guthrie, 10 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson and a special hospice nurse Dianne Osborne.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday March 13, 2011 at Carey's Run Church of Christ with James Osborne officiating and interment in Friendship Cemetery. Friends may call at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth from 5 to 7:00 PM on Saturday and at the Church 1 hour prior to the service on Sunday. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Carey's Run Church of Christ or SOMC Hospice in Delma's name. The family would like to thank Crystal Care Center for being her family and giving her lots of TLC over the last 6 years. Also thanks to SOMC Hospice for their loving care and compassion.
