Denver Bellomy, 70

Denver Bellomy 70 of Portsmouth died Tuesday April 15, 2008 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. He was born September 8, 1937 in Scioto County to the late Chester and Lula Travis Bellomy. Denver was Vietnam Veteran and retired from the United States Navy after 20 years of service as a Senior Chief, he also retired from USEC of Piketon, he was a member and a trustee of Old Town United Methodist Church, a member and Past Master of Lucasville Masonic Lodge #465, a member of El Hasa Temple of Ashland, Scottish Rites of Cincinnati and a member of James Dickey Post 23 American Legion. Along with his parents Denver was preceded in death by a son Darrell Denver Bellomy, 2 sisters; Oneda Meeker and Virginia Bigley, 4 brothers; Forrest, Frank, Redford and Elwood Bellomy.

Denver is survived by his wife of 48 years Iris Scott Bellomy whom he married on March 26, 1960, a daughter and her husband Denise and Jeff Lucas of Lucasville, 2 grandchildren Kerri and Michael Lucas of Lucasville, a brother Jack Bellomy of Port St. Lucie, Fl. and a sister Helena Craycraft of Ashdown, Ark.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday April 18, 2008 at Old Town United Methodist Church with Matthew Brookes officiating. Interment will be at Scioto Burial Park with graveside Military Rites by James Dickey Post 23 American Legion. Friends may call at the Roger W. Davis funeral home in West Portsmouth from 5 to 8:00 PM on Thursday with Masonic services starting at 8:00 PM conducted by Lucasville Masonic Lodge #465.
