Donald Mitchell Jr. 65
Donald Mitchell Jr. 65 of West Portsmouth, died Saturday October 4, 2008 at his residence. He was born March 6, 1943 in Portsmouth to the late Donald Mitchell Sr. and Katherine Sowkulech Mitchell Reed. Don was a retired electrician and an Air Force Vietnam Veteran. He was a member of Nauvoo United Methodist Church and also attended Rehoboth Mission Church. Along with his parents Don was preceded in death by a brother John Michael Mitchell.
Don is survived by his wife Patricia Isgett Mitchell who he married on July 14, 1965, a daughter Lori (Todd) Jenkins of McDermott, a son Donald Mitchell III (Betty) of West Portsmouth, a grandson J.D. Mitchell of West Portsmouth and a granddaughter Whitney Nicole Jenkins of McDermott, 2 sisters Susan (Dan) Trout and Cathy Sparks both of Atlanta, Ga. Don was also known as Da to many neighborhood kids.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday October 7, 2008 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Rick Phillips officiating. Military rites will be provided by the James Dickey Post 23 American Legion. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00am until the funeral hour.
