Donald F. Stone Sr., 92

Donald F. Stone Sr., 92 of Portsmouth, died Monday December 5, 2016 at SOMC Hospice. He was born August 3, 1924 in Portsmouth to the late Fred and Mayme Hamm Stone. He was an insurance salesman for Western Southern Insurance and retired in 1986. Donald was a WWII United States Air Force veteran and a member of Carey's Run Church of Christ in West Portsmouth. Along with his parents Donald was preceded in death by a grandson Michael F. Stone.

Donald is survived by his wife Nannetta Ruth Stone, who he married on October 18, 1942 in Portsmouth, a son Donald F. Stone Jr. (Janet) of Columbus, a brother Bill Tunice Stone of Hilliard, 2 sisters; Faye M. (Calver) Goodman of West Portsmouth and Betty Hopkins of Reynoldsburg, 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was the best husband you could ever have.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday December 8, 2016 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Glenn Lawhun officiating. Internet will be in Scioto Burial Park with graveside military rites by the James Dickey Post 23 American Legion. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday starting at 11:00 AM.
