Donita Ruth Whitt, 69

Donita Ruth Whitt, 69 of South Shore, died Sunday, December 10, 2023 at SOMC Hospice. She was born October 17, 1954 in Portsmouth, to the late Ken Carver and Wilma Hook Duffy.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by 2 brothers: John Duffy and David Carver and a sister Ginny Duffy. Donita worked in manufacturing both on aircraft and cabinets. She was also was a longtime member of Millers Run Church. She was passionate about her family and friends, and giving back to others. She loved her dogs and was an excellent pie maker.

Donita is survived by her husband Jesse Whitt, whom she married on June 11, 1994, 3 sons: Tracey (Julie) Carver, Jason (Kathy) Chamblin and Mark Chamblin, a stepbrother, Donald Duffy, 2 grandchildren: Blake Carver and Whitney Lewis, along with her best friend Cindy Ayers.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, December 14, 2023 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Robert Alexander officiating.
